Incidentally...

VHS tapes are still the standard for video capture for archival holdings. They do not degrade as easily as DVD. And they are a global standard, unlike DVD which is changing all the time (hello blue ray). Furthermore, holding audiovisual materials in hard drives etc is costly and also fraught with obsolescence issues. VHS machines are easy to maintain and easy to keep. Don't believe me? Film Australia still demand VHS for their holdings.

hey baby - the copy of sneaker pimps was mine - i used to bring it to the bookshop to listen too... but it has a green cover with a kinda mechanical background. jo xx
